Centaur Seaplane plc was registered on 18 March 2010. Centaur Seaplane plc has conditionally been offered the exclusive license for the commercialisation of recreational and utility seaplanes using technologies developed by Warrior (Aero-Marine) Ltd.
Centaur Seaplane plc has the specific objective of commercialising a new generation of amphibious seaplanes that will be competitive with existing landplanes as an amphibian and able to operate freely and reliably in the coastal maritime sector.
The company is initially bringing the two-seat Centaur 2 to market due to favorable certification criteria for this size of aircraft. Subject to the initial success of the Centaur 2, Centaur Seaplane plc may exercise an option to develop the 6-7 seat Centaur 6. The design of this aircraft is already advanced and there are high levels of confidence in its capabilities, suitability for certification and commercial potential.
